You Should Pretty Much NEVER Wash Your Dishes By Hand. Here’s Why!

A new research consumerreports.org was made, and the result showed that the dishes shouldn’t be washed by hand ever! Although it is not accessible to everyone, the dishwasher is a much better solution. Here’s why…

Most people, who have dishwasher before putting the dishes in the machine, manually remove the first layer of dirt from it. It is completely useless and has one serious consequence, according to “The Washington Post”.

Hand washing DOES NOT CLEAN THE DISHES

The temperature of the water that our hands can stand is not high enough to destroy all the bacteria on the dishes.

This is confirmed by the fact that the sponges we use for washing dishes are the object which is richest and greatest source of bacteria in the house. This fact is another reason why the hand washing is not recommended, because with such sponges we add some extra layer of dirt on the dishes.

Modern dishwashers have great opportunities to remove bacteria and to make the courts glisten. So the dishwashing machine is certainly more useful than the human hand.

Hand washing is worse for the environment

If you wash dishes by hand you will waste lot more water than washing them in the machine. It is also recommended to avoid the manual pre-wash, before you put the dishes in the dishwasher.

“In order to wash the same amount of dishes that can fit in a single load of a full size dishwasher and use less water, you would need to be able to wash eight full place settings and still limit the total amount of time that the faucet was running to less than two minutes,” Jonah Schein, a technical coordinator in the EPA’s WaterSense program, told The Washington Post.

There may actually be some benefits

In a recent experiment, made by the Swedish researchers was found that children from families that hand-wash their dishes were about 40 percent less likely to develop allergies compared with kids in homes that used a dishwasher.

The reason is that children in the first group were growing in an environment where there are more bacteria, and exposure to those bacteria may make kids more resistant to allergies.

And if you don’t have a dishwasher, that’s OK too

Make sure that you use water as less as possible and thus take care of the environment.
